Can all the hair be removed in one electrolysis session?

Here is a question that we hear very often:

Can all the hair be removed in one session of electrolysis?

A)    Unfortunately No!

Generally there may be more hair than a client is able to sit for in one session (e.g. more hair than is able to be treated in one appointment slot) or there are hairs underneath the skin in an early stage that have not grown through yet.

Saying that, if there is a small collection  of hairs then we may be able to remove them all in one appointment!

But does this mean it will be gone for good?

Essentially, hair needs to be treated more than once for it to die (2-4 treatments, or more if on a very low current) and it must be treated consecutively, 6 weeks apart. This stage of growth (6 weeks after electrolysis)  is called the Anagen stage, where the follicle is very juicy. Our electrolysis turns all that juice into sodium hydroxide within the follicle which works to detach the hair and disable the growth cells. No juicy follicle means its not worth treating! Or at least it will not be dead, you may not notice it is gone for a few months but it is not dead and will develop again with any hormonal changes or stress changes.

Our therapists love explaining this and are very passionate about getting the best results for our clients!

Our consultations are complimentary and we can work together to develop a treatment plan that will work for you.
