How does it work?
Beginning with a skin consultation, your therapist will assess your skin and determine the appropriate depth of microdermabrasion and serum infusion for you and your needs. The skin is then cleansed and prepped and the microdermabrasion is administered to remove the surface layers of dead skin cells.
The next step is the micro-needling and serum infusion, which is done simultaneously. The DermaFrac hand-piece uses vacuum to pull the skin into contact with the hundreds of micro-needles. These micro-needles create pathways for the infusion of targeted serums by penetrating the epidermis. This procedure results in optimal absorption of the serum and stimulates a positive natural response in the skin.
The last step of the treatment is the LED therapy that is applied to the skin for 4-6 minutes. In our DermaFrac treatments we use the red light which emits 620nm. Post micro-needling this step helps reduce inflammation, improve healing and increases skin rejuvenation.
Does it hurt and is there downtime?
No.
The DermaFrac hand-piece is designed to use vacuum pressure to penetrate the epidermis above capillaries and nerve endings making the treatments as non invasive and painless as possible with very little downtime. You may experience some pinkness or slightly red areas after treatments and this is attributed to the stimulation of the treatment. However you are able to continue your normal activities and even apply your mineral makeup immediately after.
